We're piggybacking off a wireless signal for the computer, but the wii can't pick up on it. What are the different possibilities?
I've heard of a Nintendo USB wi-fi thing that connects it, but can't find one, anywhere.

First of all, you need a wireless router.
Or you can buy a Nintendo Wi-fi USB adapter.
When using a wireless router, simply turn on the internet connection to get a Wi-fi signal. On the Wii, use the wi-fi access point locater to find your wi-fi location. On the wii menu, go to the Internet channel. Download it and you should be able to use the Internet via your router.
If you do not have a router, buy a Nintendo wi-fi USB adapeter at any game store. It is not very hard to find, for I even found one on the ground in a mall. Put it into your USB slot on your computer and start the program. It will transmit a wireless Wi-fi signal, similar to the router. Again, on the Wii, search for a wi-fi access point and save your location. Download your free Internet trial, and its all set.

move your compter of wii closer to the computer to try get the wireless signal because that is the best option. There is a wi-fi adapter which will work with the wii and DS, but if you have wireless there is no point because that too will be out of range. Also if you want to go wired an adapter for the wii is coming soon.

The USB connector is a wireless add-on that you plug in to a computer with broadband that broadcasts a specific frequency just to the Wii and the DS
