You can't go wrong with candy, mints, cookies, Tylenol, etc. Classroom needs are also handy: hand sanitizer, baby wipes, disinfected wipes, glue sticks, Sharpies, pens, pencils, stickers, etc.
One of my favorite gifts was fresh baked banana bread and gift card to Dunkin Donuts for my morning coffee!
Have fun!

The best things are the ones that teachers use every day, that way you know that they will be used and not shoved into a corner to collect dust after you get your thank-you note. Things like note pads, sticky notes, pencils, pens, dry erase markers, stickers, and bookmarks come to mind. And since it's Valentines Day there would always be room for chocolate (no peanuts). Also hand cream would be a nice treat and depending on the budget a gift certifiacte for a manicure or other spa treatment would be icing on the cake.

I'm a teacher and I eat really healthy food. If someone gave me a fast-food gift certificate, candy or chocolate it would just go to waste. If you want to do the gift certificate thing, consider one for a nearby cinema or bookstore, or a gift certificate for a manicure at a local salon. If you want to get real objects, think about things like travel mugs (you can never have too many when you're a teacher, trust me!), pretty notebooks or a gel eye mask. Be careful about buying scented products as everyone has different preferences.

As a teacher I have often gotten fun gifts that I liked but other teachers would not..I suggest talking to a student who has the teacher and asking them what they know the teacher enjoys...if not Local fast foo gift certificates are also nice for teachers since they can sometimes go grab lunch quickly..Also neutral gifts of candles, notepads, writing utensils are nice..Do not get a lot of teacher themed things because we get so many of them that we have a drawer overspilling...Candy is nice..if the teacher eats it, but do not bake anything because people get very weary of this stuff and sometimes it just gets thrown away.

I'd give a little candy--not too much. We teachers are prone to big butts. I love pens, stationary, books. They don't have to necessarily be "teacher" related gifts. Teachers are regular people too, although at times we don't seem to be. What would you buy your sister/brother, mother/father, etc.? We get so little sometimes; we'd appreciate any gift.

As a teacher I can tell you it depends on his/her age..If she is young , she would like body sprays, lotions, perfumes , whatever is soothing and calming...If she is older a good book about whatever subject she/he teaches...accessories for her desk...etc
