I bought a new case. Pretty good (should be with it's hefty price tag of £65 ($130))

It has a HDD and CPU temperature sensor connected to the front screen. I have two hard drives so I just wedges the HDD sensor between the two hard drive, lovely job.

Where do I poke the CPU sensor to get a reading of CPU temp?

I'm confused

Thanks
-Jack

Ideally between the heatsink and the CPU, but connected to the heatsink is also alright. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it anyway, those type of sensors are not very accurate.

You will not get an accurate reading but you can place the temp sensor on the back side of your motherboard in the area between the CPU pins. Most motherboards have a temp sensor on the front side of the MB between these pins to give a better reading but since it is not in direct contact with the CPU, it still doesn't give the most accurate reading.

I have mine just stuck between the blades of the heatsink on the back of the CPU, it seems to work very well there

even if that's stressed out in decrease both wires and connect a resistor between the wires. the cost must be someplace between 6,000 ohms to ten,000 ohms. If is soldered in basically unsolder it flow to a radio shack or digital grant homestead and get yet another.
