If only one person uses it, and they are serious, he/she must open their mind wider and lower their defenses more than if 2 people or a group are using it. This is very dangerous and requires more practice at making yourself defenseless.
There is an implied invitation to the Ouija that is not in other forms of divination; this makes it an invitation for harm. The Ouija is specifically designed for contacting the dead or disembodied. The disembodied have a vested interest in gaining access to a physical body.
Like a pedophile, or other social predator, dangerous disembodied consciousnesses will often start by telling partial truths and giving interesting tidbits of information that encourage repeat use and carelessness.
If I cannot dissuade you from using the Ouija, at least use these pre-cautions:
1) Do not use it alone. If it does not work you are wasting time; if it does work you are playing with something dangerous and there is no one with your back or keep you grounded in reality.
2) Always close/sign out/say goodbye after using a board. You have opened a door -- do not leave it open when you leave!
3) Never make a board on a hard surface (counter top, table, floor, sidewalk/street, etc.); if you ever need to destroy/seal the door it will be very difficult.
You would not go into a dangerous neighborhood announcing that you are by yourself and unarmed. Why would venture alone (and blind) into the world of the bodiless?

I've never been able to get one to 'work' when I was alone but the planchette always moved when I was using it with other people (part of the reason why I don't really believe in them) A lot of people say it's dangerous to use them alone. My friend's older sister became obsessed with using one alone and she believed she was speaking to a woman named Hope and she 'found out' all about Hope's life, etc.. Over time, she'd spend more and more time alone with the Ouija board and she was getting really weird and easily spooked. She started to believe she could see the woman she was speaking to sometimes. One day, she had some weird experience in the bathroom involving something that supposedly moved on it's own (or something) and she stopped using the board.
If anything, using one alone can be very bad for certain people, especially if they believe the board is actually working. It can make them a little wacky.

Not really.
What you're wanting is called a pendulum, but can be anything from aneedle to a button to a plumb bob, anything on the end of a string that will hang and swing will work. It works because you relax and your subconscious controls your hand with tiny movements, so it's a way of directly communicating with your subconscious.
You mark a circle (about 6-8" in diameter) with a cross thru it on a piece of paper, hold the pendulum over the center of the cross, relax your conscious control over your hand and ask the following:
1) Which direction is 'Yes'? (mark the answer on the paper)
2) Which direction is 'No'? (mark the answer on the paper)
3) Which direction is 'I don't know'? (mark the answer on the paper)
4) Which direction is 'I don't want to answer'? (mark the answer on the paper)
5) You know that I love you/me/us, right?
(if the answer is 'no', this is the first thing you're going to want to work on, because until the answer is 'yes', you really can't rely on the parts of your team to act in the team's best interest)
Then ask almost any number of open-ended (can be aswered w 'yes' or 'no') questions, always remembering every 5 - 10 to ask if your subconscious minds if you continue.
Biggest Brightest Blessings!!!

It's a good way to pick up on how to manipulate it to have a killer party trick(when the board says the guy who has been hassling you all night is attracted to a linebacker, amusing things happen) other than that, don't bother, it's fake.
General idea, apply force with your fingers at the right angle and pressure to move it without showing your actually forcing it along, Tinker a while, you'll find it.

Yes, I don't advise it. Homemade ones with shot glasses are the best. In the beginning state that no evil spirits are welcomed, and no spirits are allowed to take over your body. when you are done, command that all spirits must leave, that they are no longer welcomed, then it is very important that you crack a window in the room you were in and light a candle and allow it to burn for at least an hour. This will release all the negative Energy in the room. Also close the door behind you. Hope this helps.

Yes.
Dangerous? No.
But if you do attain some results, the idea of having two people is for validation of experience.
One person, it's a spooky story. Two people, it can be a very interesting story. A whole group of people, it's an unexplained story with some interesting results.

Some say you should never do it. But I have and know alot of others that have with no problem. Spirits cannot "come to you", unless you invite them. Especially bad ones.
