Something in world history that had a big affect on world history. Nothing on US history. Nothing too broad or vague. I wanted to do the rise and fall of Nazi Germany, but it was too broad.

THANKS!

If you want to do smaller events within the rise and fall of Nazi Germany, try something like the Burning of the Books in 1933, Hitlers period as chancellor, the invasion of Poland, The Nuremberg Laws of 1935, the Hitlerjugend (the German youth Nazi training organization), or focus on the history of a particular concentration or work camp, or "Night of Broken Glass" (Kristallnacht) in November 1938. Good luck.

Well you said "not to broad" so I'm going to go small.

A) The battle of Thermopyle.

and/or

The Battle of Salamis.

Greeks stop Persian invasion. Athens (and rest of Greece) live on. Allows development of Greek ideas like Democracy, Philosophy, Science, Freedom, Drama, etc to continue.

B) The Fall of Constantinople 1453. Turks destroy last remnant of the Roman Empire. Causes schollars (who can) to fleet to Italy, (thus begining the Renesance). Also helps Turks cement controll of Medeteranian trade routes, allowing them to drive up prices, and spurs European desire for a route to China that doesn't go through Arab/Turkish/Moslem lands

C) James Watt invents steam engine.

D) Battle of Britan. Summer 1940. Never before in the history of human conflict have so many owed so much to so few.

E) Cortez conquers the Aztecs.

My suggestions:

- The development of the Atomic bomb. (gets you dealing with the same period as Nazi Germany for some of it). Massive impacts on foreign relations between every country in the world forevermore because of that one development? Very interesting - link with the cold war etc?

- If you wanted early modern history you could look at the significance of Martin Luther (as in the monk who triggered the reformation - not Martin Luther King) massive impacts on the following years in all European countries.

- Finally, what about the suffragette movement of the late 19th century? You could look at figures such as Emmelinne Pankhurst who transformed the future for women and gave them the right to vote.

Goodluck!

What component of Nazi germany fasinates you the main. For me that's the holocaust. The question of why hate of a few communities of human beings brought about yet another team to cleanse them out. If it is still to important. %. a camp or a team that selection into below aim. This exchange into not purely occurring in Europe. the yankee help Japaniese in camps too. may be look at that direction.

How about the Industrial Revolution in England? Many people think it began in the US, but it actually started in England. The Industrial Revolution certainly had a huge impact on the world.

You already have some very good suggestions. Yet another might be the foundation and early spread of Islam - that might give some insights into the modern world as well.
