why cant you tell your mom exactly that. if you are just staring your period tampons might be hard to use until you start to have sex. also tampons are a responsiblity, you must change them oftern and still wear liners to prevent damage to your clothing, also not changing can allow for plently of medical issues, im sure she's just affaid for your health. if anything got to the school nurse and ask for some and get them from there until you feel comfortable getting them at home.

I know you might think you want to but trust me when I say tampons are not something you want to use, commercial tampons are the most harmful out of over twenty different menstrual options because of what they do to your vaginas natural functions and what they put into your vagina.

Your mother should have taught you by now how to care for your vaginal health and so why you should not use tampons, if not then you need to be responsible enough to learn about these things yourself.

I would recommend you look at different options; you are not restricted to using either commercial pads or commercial tampons, you have over twenty different menstrual options to choose from, most much better than commercial tampons.

What would probably work best for you would be menstrual cups as they can be left in for up to 12 hours without leaking so they are more convenient than tampons and also less likely to leak when you are dancing. Menstrual cups are also totally internal so there won't even be a string to show through your costume and they are a lot more comfortable than tampons so make it a lot easier when you dance because unlike tampons they are not likely to make your period pains worse or add to bloating.

Menstrual cups are also a lot safer than tampons, cheaper, greener, and unlike tampons menstrual cups are hygienic, when asking your mother to buy you a menstrual cup you might want to play on the fact they are much cheaper, a menstrual cup will cost around $34 for ten years, you can also get a money back guarantee on them – parents generally like it if they can save money.

Alternatively you can go for softcups, these are like normal menstrual cups but sit higher up in your vagina and they are disposable so might be better to use until you are used to the idea of using internal options.

Figure out why she won't let you use a tampon, and then address her concerns and tell her why you want to use a tampon. Or just use tampons during shows without her knowing; she doesn't own your body.

Just tell her exactly what you told us. She shouldn't have a problem with it. Tampons are wayy better then pads. They are so much more comfortable. Goodluck :)

Buy it yourself. I did that once. Don't let your mom find out and you will be okay.

Just buy them yourself. It's your body, your period, your decision.
