We were reunited after 20 years and I thought I was finally with my soulmate. After a while the emotional abuse started. I had to do 2 months in jail and found out he cheated on me. My son came and got me from Arkansas and brought me to Mississippi to start over, B ut I still miss him. I don't want to be killed I' m just wondering if any of you have any advice for me. He tried to strangle me one night before New years while drunk, and he drinks all the time.

What are you thinking? You know the answer. Spend some time on yourself building self exteem. Once you learn to love yourself , it will be clear that you do not need that man in your life. You are exactly where you need to be. Give your son a great big hug for saving his mom. Don't look back, look ahead , its healthier.

So he tried to strangle you, he abuses you emotionally and he's drunk all the time? And you MISS HIM? All I can tell you is to make sure your will is in order. That way, when he kills you - and he WILL kill you eventually - your son won't have to wait too long to get his share of your life insurance.
Either get out or get comfortable with the idea or being killed by him. Those are your only choices.

He's an ex so why do anything at all?
Go on with your life, it's too short and you're not doing what you can or should be to get on with it! Go out and meet a real guy that has someting to offer you other then briuses! Forget him there are plenty of nice ones around and you are waisting time!

You are on the right track not wanting to be killed. Get out and enjoy life, join an abusive recovery group or a domestic survivor group and enjoy your life

I don't understand either, my ex wife left me for her ex boyfriend, I have never laid a hand on her, I have full and sole custody of our daughters,she has been with him for 6 years now, and has been in and out of the hospital several times for broken ribs, noses, and he has been in jail many times for domestic violence/abuse, and I can just imagine all the times that the police were not involved, and yes, they are still together. Well, for me, don't know, don't care, and "my" daughters are better off. I think you people are sick,,,,,sorry, but you need help,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If the emotional abuse and the fear of him killing you isn't enough to stay away from him then you are a lost soul .
make up your mind. think about your family ...
think about your life and happiness with out the abuse.

Get the Police involved. That's why they're there. They can protect you. don't go blabbin' it all over these Kids. They don't know what kind of Hell, they're getting ready to face. Police, Police, Police. And, for GOD's sake. don't take matters in your own hands.

you are stupid if you go back. you are free of him don't go back. he doesn't love you if he tries to kill you. that is a strange sick kind of love. if he has cheated on you why be with an untruthful man. but it is your life.
