You are talking about giving up thought, not your brain. There is no life without a brain and I'm not sure how far you can take cognitive thought down before you lose all quality of life. I do know they used to give people frontal lobotomies. They became quite content and never knew what they were missing. After all, a good portion of their brain was gone.

If the principle of the brain = logics and the principle of the heart = emotions, without a brain, we're doomed o being nothing but out of control beings responding to nothing but emotions. Dangerous stuff. Without the heart and just a brain, we'll be nothing more than computers, devoid of feeling any emotions, dangerous stuff. Isn't it lovely how life has a balancing factor for everything!!

In the context of over thinking things and going with the flow, I have a position to offer.
People can dissect things too minutely and cause harm to their relations and even their peace of mind. But really it is a matter of moderation
Sometimes I believe one should shut off the questioning altogether and just go with the gut. To be in control of all situations at all times, even amongst friends in a safe environment ain't a good thing.
During day to day activities, it's good to be skeptical of motives, questioning of answers and enquiring into the deeper parts of understanding, but it's also good to draw a line and accept that often what is, just is. The hard part is knowing where to draw that line.
Peace

Sadly no. The brain is essential to our every thought and action. With no brain we would be a zombie - doomed to drag through life with no purpose, feeling or sense of accomplishment.

Without a brain; you wouldn't have been able to think of this amazing question. Without a brain, I would not have recognized the opportunity to grab these two points.

You can see a close approximation to life without a brain on most Internet forums.

NO. w/o a brain u can't do anything, you would lay there like a stick, your brain controls every function in your body, you would die, maybe you could live just a little bit with life support...but still be like a stick....

If you mean without higher thoughts, I suppose, but where is that fine line between allowing the brain to love, yet never feel fear? Impossible. We evolved to use "negative" emotions to survive, just keep them under control, and use them, don't let them use you.
