I love MCR and they take me to another world when I get fed up with this one and they keep me calm so I dont do anything stupid. (plus, Gerard Way is so HOT!) I know this is alot for a band to do to a person, since most bands are just for listening to music with a nice beat, while they have meaning. But, I'm not too sure that what they did, and still do, for me is saving my life. So, how is it that people say that MCR saved their life?
Once again, I love them and I dont want this to come across as a nasty comment/question to make.

I'm not a MCR fan but I find that if you are a true fan of a band or artist the music has that effect on you. You will also see that many bands these days are actually trying to put more meaning into their music, but it does come with experience as a musician I guess.

I like MCR and all but their not my favorite. . .
but i can completely relate to your life-saving thing. I have a band that saves my life on a daily basis and would describe the ways i feel about them in almost the same ways you do MCR. it's nice to know that doesn't make me crazy and i'm not the only one :)

I listen to some music to stop me from doing stupid things, too.
My Chemical Romance helps.
So does Bullet For My Valentine and Taking Back Sunday's first CD, "Tell All Your Friends" from 2002. I don't say that they saved my life, but they help me stay calm all the time. Because of that, I'm really open-minded and layed back.
but maybe for some people, when they do something stupid, it's life-threatening and because of the music, they don't do it. That could be what they mean. or it could just be people exaggerating.
Either way, My Chemical Romance is the best ♥

OK...well i used to not want to go through with life anymore (for reasons that will stay unknown to the public). i was sick of life, but they made me feel like i could live and love it cuz its a blessing...and love myself cuz i am probably here for a reason...i don't know exactly what the reason is, but I'm trying to find out.
so...
MCR saved my life...literally.

they kick a**, but i have to agree with you..........when i'm stressed out from all the work that i get from school or when i'm pissed off with my dad i would listen to them and forget everything that went on through out the day, but i never met anyone with the saying that "MCR SAVED MY LIFE"

I don't My Chemical Romance saved my life, but they sure did help me enjoy it! GOD I love their music (I'm listening to it right now!). Their music is phenomenal and it always makes me feel better.

i love mcr too.i agree with you on their music.it has meaning plus i love the beat.i don't know the answer you question, sorry! i just couldn't help but to agree with you on thier music.

Okay well my dad hates that music but im in love with it he even made me delete them off my Ipod and everything i have nothing well they helped me with the songs heaven help us, helena, cancer, disenchanted and the ghost of you. great songs they helped me get over my uncle's death and my other uncles death from cancer. Disenchanted helped me by just i love that song and everything about it
Sleep helped me by just like you did something you regret sleep it off and start over ya know just like because im black and every one at my school is like your a poser so i just sleep it off
The only song I hate to love is Mama i mean its giving a bad message like ohh we all go to hell i mean isnt mcr christians i mean yeah thats why my dad made me delete them because off that phrase
it even helped me about the death thing like death is gonna come to us all okay so just deal with it dont be afriad off it

they are awesome! there songs help me through a lot of stuff. and they help put down the ghost of my past that continuously haunts me. i feel good knowing someone went through the sam thing and cares
