A social security check is the same, no matter where you live. But Boulder Creek, California, is pretty expensive. If I decide I should move to a less expensive place, where would you recommend? I like quiet, small town style, relaxed and friendly. I don't much like extremes of temperature or rainfall. I need public transportation, as I never learned to drive.

I consider buses perfectly adequate transportation if they run often enough. Cabs if they have ones for limited mobility. Getting old and creaky in joints.

Terra Alta, WV has about 1,500 people living here. It does have a bus that goes through here once a day. I sent you a real estate site below. Elevation in about 2,900 ft. I also sent you the weather for here too, but it's been way above adverage. There are no cabs here, but there are only 4 redlights in the whole COUNTY.

If you like that climate then you probably want to go to the desert south west. There are cheaper places to live but they wouldn't have public transportation. Some places have buses or pay for cabs just for seniors even if they don't actually have public trans so check into that.
