Does she abort or does she go on hope that the baby survives the operation if there is one?

I had two friends who had babyies with holes in their heart. The second friend's baby had other heart problems as well. Both babies had surgery as young infants, and both are doing very, very well now. They are as healthy as any other kid (one is 5 and the other is 2).

To know whether or not the baby has a chance your friend will have to talk with her doctor, and then get a second opinion from another doctor. We are not trained professionals and cannot possibly know how this will turn out. All I can provide is that I've heard of babies with pretty bad heart conditions who came out fine.

71 percent of infants that have open heart surgery survive unless there are other circumstances.

The survival rates have increased dramatically in the last twenty years.

sorry my answer was too clinical -> a little prayer won't hurt the chances either. God go with you.
