I seriously doubt that you have tried EVERYTHING. Come on, now. lol

I do, however, know how frustrating being constipated can be. I'm pregnant with my second child, and have been dealing with constipation for the past 5 months.

What works: If you're stopped up, drink at LEAST 20 glasses of water a day. No matter what, make sure that you do this. On top of the water, take Metamucil 3 times a day (or the maximum dosage until you go, which can be about 2-4 days, depending on how stopped up you are). You can also add 3 tbsp of Milk Of Magnesia in the mornings, and that should help.

If you're anything like me, that should make you REALLY go. It just might take a day or two.

Fiber, fiber, fiber.

The stuff I mentioned won't cause cramping, either. Did you recently do something that would make you constipated? You know, like quit smoking, start taking an iron supplement, or quit exercising? All of these will cause constipation.

What do you mean by everything? It's not fun being constipated. It's a last resort however 1 oz ofCastor Oil mixed with a glass of orange juice will aliveate the problem. Don't do this if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor.

my husband is having the same issue. 3 things to consider.
1. is this your only problem or are you having other health issues? i.e. could be your medication
2. How long has this been going on? 1 or 2 days without a bm, ok but after 4 or 5 it becomes more of an issue.
3. have you changed your diet or traveled recently?

Well, obviously you haven't tried everything, have you? Or you wouldn't be here asking questions about it. Get on a vegetarian diet, drink lots of clean water (80 to 100 oz./day), and take some pro-biotics. It will be gone in a few days. Or, you could try a fast... that would certainly take care of it. Here's a great site for fasting and other info:
