This i think the should really consider since Boise State was the bomb and the national title game was a blow out and those are supposed to be teh best games. But by far i think that Boise State and Oklahoma was the best game ever in NCAA history. You have to consider that they did go undeafeted butare in a weak confrence. Being in a weak confrence isnt your fault. they need to let teh best teams play it out so they dont get snuffed on the BCS title game like Auburn did a few years back adn Utah as well.

They have needed a playoff for a long time but as long as there are the huge dollars thrown around for the bowl games there is no way the major conferences will allow a playoff. It would cause them to lose too much money and since they could care less about the fans and the intergrity of the game they will opt for cashing the big checks over what is right and fair. The bowl games would lose their luster and advertising dollars so there would be less teams cashing bowl checks. The Big 10 for example had 7 teams collecting bowl payouts and all 11 teams get a piece of that pie, why would they vote for a system that would limit the teams that get playoff money. There were 3 teams (Ohio St, U of M and Wisconsin) that would have gotten into a playoff, that means 4 teams with no post season money. It is sad but the dollar means more than anything to them.
They need to drop the C and just call it the BS series.

A playoff system will not work and they should never implement it. Who wants to see the same college team play every week during Bowl season. The bowl games are set up pretty well they just need to hone the BCS ratings and put in rules of teams that end the season perfect should get there chance. If they do a playoff system it could only take the top 4 teams and do a playoff that way. I enjoy bowl games and colleges need there bowl money and a playoff system would ruin it for a lot of schools and benefit the top teams too much. This year had a good ending and I see no controversy how Boise State ended the season. Next year they will play more BCS teams and they will get destroyed. I say a perfect season puts you in the running and you should get your chance though.

There was no doubt that the Boise St. vs Oklahoma games was living proof that a 16 team playoffs should be implemented in college football.

A small school like Boise St. could do wonders with that revenue.

Absolutely.

And for the big conference fans who think they'll always be better than the mid-majors and smalls: Don't you think a playoff system would *prove* your point? Or are you afraid of having similar results (upsets) that March Madness *annually* provides?

The NCAA should definitely have a playoff system in Div. I-A football, but there's no way they're going to implement one any time soon... it's all about the money.
