Same thing happened to us.... use RustSeal by KBS Coatings. Get their System Sampler for $16. First sand to remove all the loose flaky stuff then proceed with cleaning, prepping & sealing using 2 Thin coats. Just follow the easy directions. Rustseal will cure to super hard seal. It's also moisture-cured so it loves wet environments and actually gets stronger when exposed to it ...the opposite of regular paints.

You can rid the rust by sanding it.Then you can buy a product made by Krylon Paint called Fusion paint. It will stop the rust and cover up the sanded area to prevent it from coming back.I am a handyman and have been in the building trades for 21 years now.

you could positioned some Lime Away (it removes rust too) in there and run it empty to scrub and rinse it out. I surely have extensively utilized the dishwasher magic stuff made with tips from Electrosal. the two artwork decently, i've got not got concern with rust in my section yet very confusing water. you ought to because of the fact the different individual stated attempt CLR too, its ok yet costly.

Ditto, time for a new one, you can temporarily remove the rust with CLR or a similair product but the rust WILL come back unless you have high iron in the water but again it will come back.

new dishwashers are not as good as the old ones. once you have rust in the tub they are nearly beyond repair. at least the new ones are relatively inexpensive. might want an extended warranty these days.
