my mom thinks that my dad buys food he likes just to make her fat after losing 60-80lbs. (she claims it is sooooo rude) -i know its retarded, i'm taking a poll for my own reference. And the food he buys, if my mom likes it, she eats alllll of it.

Depends on whether your dad needs to lose weight. Some couples take the other mates losing weight as a threat. They feel the one losing weight is losing weight to attract someone else, or they are jealous that the other person has lost weight and they can't or don't want too. My husband said that if I lost weight he would also have to lose weight. So your mom could be right and it is unfair to tempt someone like that when they have done so well losing weight. Maybe you should ask your dad how he feels about it all.

Your dad should support her in her need to stay on the right track when it comes to eating right. He should try a little harder and avoid so much unhealthy foods and compromise in buying healthier versions. If he or other family members need a junk food fix, it should only be bought on occasion and maybe while they are out and about.

well he should try to keep things like that to a minimum in the house if she was an alcoholic would he bring lots of liquor home one of the hardest things for dieters is that sometimes loved ones sabotage their efforts because they are also afraid of change he may not know what a problem this is for her you should try to be supportive that's a lot of weight to lose and even harder to keep off I'm sure ...i think i read 90% of dieters gain the weight back

If your mom gets upset when your dad goes grocery shopping, then she should shop for groceries herself-simple as that.
