Yes Georgie it probably will be a very long time before they return to what THEIR fans call Greatness........ Um, I guess it's really hard to say. The White Sox put together a solid team last year and would done pretty well had the Twins and Tigers not both played out of their minds and make the Sox look like punks.
I think Ozzie Guillen is overrated as a manager and I think Kenny Williams is an awful GM. The 2005 squad had great chemistry and none of the other teams in the playoffs looked interested in being there that season, so I think it was all about timing and luck.
Williams has already traded away two big parts of his rotation and his best young arm. They re-upped with Scotty P for another year of low averages, low OBP and 3 HR from a corner outfielder. Jermaine Dye, Jim Thome and Paul Konerko are only getting older. Their SS might be in a Dominican court-room all next season.
I think the White Sox are in a bit of disarray right now, but they do still have some talent and a few solid guys down in the farm system. It's really hard to determine whether it'll take another 88 years because there's a lot that can happen...

You have to look at it this way. They went 88 years without winning, but they won more recently than the Tigers did, right? That should take some sting out of not winning for 88 years.
I'm a Yankee fan, we can talk all we want about having more championships than the Red Sox. However, they won two years ago, we haven't won in six years and counting. The Red Sox fans have us there.
The fact that Detroit has won 4 series in the 88 years that it took the White Sox to win one, doesn't mean much anymore. Trammel, Gibson, Whitaker, Brookens, Parrish, Morris, and Petry are old and retired. The White Sox are still playing and will be tough for years to come.

You're right. The "El Socko Blanca" did not build a team for more than one championship. Just like the '93 Phillies, lighting in a bottle! Of course the Phillies gave the world series away to the Blue Jays.

Baseball is an rather complicated recreation to call. while your predicted to win you fall flat on your face as has my Yankees considering 2000 the final year we gained something. On paper we glance like the gang to overcome yet no person informed the gamers that. The Whitesox have some rather sturdy place gamers yet we could face it their pitching sucks huge time. Buehrle, Contreras, Garland, Vasquez...you get what i'm announcing. yet in spite of those gamers something would desire to happen. yet so can Pigs fly?

If I was Pete Rose, I would take the action and bet that the White Sox wins another World Series before the Cubs finally go to one. LOL

Why are you trying to make the White Sox-Tigers match up to look like the Red Sox-Yankees? Like Red Sox fans always say to me who won last. Don't have an arguement against that.

With the Tigers having Verlander for at least 15, it will be at least that long before the "sux: win again.
