yes it's true, people are rarely rude to a tall good looking person (without reason) but are quite often rude or mean to short unnattractive people for no reason at all. Fat people too, even if their face is attractive, they are thought of as stupid, lazy, etc. I am not sure why it's like this, but it is.

For the most part, depending upon the situation, I think your right. In a job interview, if there are the good looking candidates and the not so good looking ones, sitting in a room waiting their turn to interview, I think a lot of people make an assumption by how someone looks as to how well they may do the job. But a not so good looking person can clean up well, dress nice and come across very intelligent, dependable and responsible and a good looking person can clean up well, dress nice and open their mouth and all that comes out is crap, the not so good looking person will get the job. Now, if your talking about high school and that type of thing, then hands down, YES. It is very unfortunate, but is very true. What would be interesting is if some reality show would go into some American high school and take a total geek, and dress them up, give them a whole new look, to see if they are treated different. I bet they would!

People act different when they are dressed a certain way. Think about it, you carry yourself different when your just veggin in your sweat pants and holey socks with stains running down the front of your shirt compared to when your dressed up nice, clean and nice shoes. Your esteem is much higher when you know you look good. When your esteem is higher, you feel better about yourself and you act different! A lot of time, you act more approchable and confident. That is very attractive to people. But you got a good question there......hopefully it opens peoples eyes to how shallow they can be.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it has more to do with your character and how you were raised than how you look. If only everyone would treat eachother like a best friend we'd have a much happier world.

yeah..most of the people in my school that are ugly get treated worse than the people who are more gorgeous. but i don't think that's fair. you shouldn't judge a friend on their looks, you should like them for their personality. because if you have a hot friend that is nasty to you, and a not so appealing friend but is the nicest in the world, wouldn't you want the not so appealing one? in the end i think that ugly people will dominate the world!!!!! =P..ahha

Absolutely a positive YES.

It is a survival mechanism to pass on healthier off spring.

Social graces are a learned behavior so that we treat ugly people with unconditional respect.

Same goes for ugly people who treat beautiful people with envy or jealousy. They too, have to learn social graces to treat beautiful people with unconditional respect.

This is true, but in the long run your personality, intelligence, confidence and talent does make a bigger difference.

You can only get go so far on looks only.

often 'eglier' people are treated very kindly, in a false way, cause people feel kinda guilty about that...
but good looking people are treated better, this is true.
They are 'victims' of prejudisms as well though....so....in the end...nobody is safe from superficial judgement.

This is a proven fact. Tyra Banks and Oprah both did a field study proving it. I'm sure others have too.

OMG yes! Looks matter if your in this world, if your face is not right, or your body is right, then you won't really make it in this world. I don't want it that way but that is the way of the world.
