Yes, as envious people don't usually go green but may display behaviour that gives away their envy. So if the jolly green giant started to stomp or puff or cry uncontrollably at the sight of the jolly green giantess being pursued by a sweet corn or other suiter, he might be percieved to be envious or having an off day.

I think if he was green with envy he would no longer go around with that big smile on his face singing 'ho ho ho'. That would draw people's attention to the fact he was not feeling quite so jolly.
