can you bake the flour and salt doh they use in school for projects? we are making "mountains and hills" I am rolling it out with a rolling pin to help it dry quicker, but can you put it in the oven to help it dry out? I would LOVE to get this project done this weekend.

That kind of dough can probably be put in the oven at the lowest setting. I would check it maybe every 10-15 minutes. If you want a better alternative, you should do papier mache. It's easy and you can mold it however over something and it can be dried in the oven too. Very low heat just check every 5 or 10 minutes. It can be sanded down and painted. It's great, easy and cheap. Not much mess and you make it out of newspaper which is only garbage anyway, and glue. Just dip shredded paper into glue mixed with a bit of water. As long as it is still somewhat thick yet watered down it will work. Shape it over something and later just dump it off. I made a head for a costume and I put it around a beach ball. Later I deflated the ball and there was the shape. I didn't know then that you could sand it. But the sanding makes it nice and smooth. Then I spray painted it. It looked great. Just a thought. Got it done in one day. I kept layering it and drying it in the oven.

Sure, you can bake it at low temp. Watch that it does not bake long enough to turn brown. But then if you are doing mountains and hills I guess that might be an advantage. Good luck on the project, sounds like fun.

You can but it on about 250 degrees. Just keep an eye on it. I can't remember the rule. I think it was 20 minutes for every 1/4 inch of thickness but I'm not sure.

Sure. Put the oven on its lowest setting.
Pay close attention to it, though.
