there are flash drives which are now quite large and i have read in pc format are the safest for long term storage. Not too bad a price @ www.7dayshop.com

they are now making 32gb pen drives, not as big as blueray but more practical, im sure that will double again in just a few mths

blu-ray dual layer discs can store 50GB, hd dvd dual layer discs can store 30GB and normal dual layer dvds can store about 8GB.
Blu-ray by far, but they're the most expensive.
