doubt you mean cocktail dress. But if you're referring to a short semi-formal dress I would say a consignment shop!!! Lots of times girls wear them one dang time and spend too much $$$. If you go to a consignment shop you'll find cute in excellent shape dresses and for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

I've seen some really cute dresses at JcPennys before - and they were on sale! Another place you can always look is Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls or T. J. Maxx. Also Mariposa usually has cute stuff, but it's more expensive than the stores above. Good luck!

Debs has very nice cocktail dresses. Go to your local beauty collage and get the works done, you hair in an updo, you nails and toes manacuried, and polished, you deserve a day of beauty and pampering. Best Wishes and Have A Ball at the eight grade ball, remember to take lots of pictures too!

Macy's and Bloomingdales are a bit expensive, but the dresses at sears are a bit tacky, Rue21 is a nice place but they aren't everywhere, so I would recomend an outlet, there are some options you gotta take a whole day for it though or like a Marshall's or a Nordstrom-Rack, but please don't do target and walmart for this one.

Try macy's- they have a good junior's dress department. Also, victoria's secret online has some really cute dresses. Good luck, and have fun!

try the thrift stores first and run an ad in the local flyer asking for a size and style and see if anyone will come up with a lovely dress for you.

8th grade ball, what are you cinderella you mean formal. In the case of a formal you want to look up fromal dresses online. try prom dress catalogues, my 8th grade formal thats what me and everyone else was wearing.
