Love both, but the Police were so advanced musically and lyrically that they get my vote.
And I don't think that Sting has done anything approaching that level of work since.

Sex pistols all the way. Great punk band, right up there with The Ramones and The Clash.

I like the Police better. The songs are all well written and deep. Also Stewart Copeland was a great drummer.
