You will have the urge to go, and when you try to go, you will see your bladder coming out of your vagina. I'm not kidding. When it falls off it's "shelf" or hammock as you called it, that is what happens. The surgeon has to go on and make a new shelf to put it back on. My sister had this so I know.

my mom just had surgery for this.... if you cant hold it when u have to pee, pee a little when you cough or sneeze.... those are the signs that its not working... you ll need sugery to get your bladder put back up..

When you start losing urine, especially when you cough, sneeze or laugh. It comes with age, usually (not always, of course) and more prevalent in women because of childbearing pressures.
