NO, you can not loose your virginity from using a tampon. It might break your hymen, but depending on the girl some don't have a hymen or it wore away naturally though activities like sports, climbing trees, or riding a bike. To loose your virginity means having virginal sexual intercourse for the first time with another person, not a tampon. Besides, the hymen is an outdated term that does not applied to the 21st century. Most people just say that, because they don't want their daughters to use tampons or have sex, yet. Just sit down and talk to your mom and have a heart to heart conversation.

It depends on how you think of virginity- either as just every having any bodily penertration, breaking the hymen (" your cherry") or as a spiritual thing (actually having sex).

You will not lose your virginity to a tampon either way. It will not break your hymen because it will not/ should not be inserted that far. And of course, you are not engaging in sex with the tampon so you will be ok.

I think your mom may just be concerned that if you get used to wearing tampons that perhaps you will be more curious/less scared of engaging in sex. Don't be upset with her telling you about the virginity thing. She may just be looking out for what she believes to be your best interest.

I suppose your mom really means that you could damage or break your hymen. That is not the real definition of "virginity". Engaging in sexual intercourse with another person is what people consider losing one's virginity. So no, you won't lose your virginity while using a tampon.

no, what using a tampon can do is break your hymen which can also happen from playing sports, riding a horse or other things. If your hymen is already torn you will bleed lesss or not at all whern you have sex for the first time. Way Back in the day bleeding when you had sex for the first time was the sign that you had been chaste before you got married. You use to have to produce the bloody white sheet the morning after your weding night to your in laws to prove their son married a virgin.

Losing your virginity and breaking your hymen are completely different things. I've never heard of a female breaking her hymen with a tampon, so I'm going to say no.

Losing your virginity is having sexual intercourse for the first time. Many young women break their hymen in other ways, but that doesn't mean they've lost their virginity.

No, you cannot lose your virginity from using a tampon. The only way you can lose your virginity is from sexual intercourse. Your mom was probally talking about your hymen, your hymen can break from using a tampon. But that doesn't mean you aren't a virgin.

NO!, you can only lose your virginity, when you have intercourse for the first time. It is possible to break your hymen with a tampon, but you would still be a virgin. Your mother should really know the difference!

No. You can break your hymen, but that does not mean you are not a virgin. When you have sex for the first time you lose your virginity. Your hymen has nothing to do with virginity. It can break very easily; horseback riding, sports, gymnastics, tampons, hard hits, can all cause it to break. Some women aren't even born with a hymen.

It all depends on your definition of virginity. Mine has always been penis in a vagina... a tampon is not a penis so there for your safe.

Some cultures consider the hymem (a thin membrane over the vaginal opening) to be the tester of virginity. A tampon would break through it (it usually breaks with sports and activites) and therefore by their definition you would have lost your virginity.

It comes down to morals and values.
