Well, that's a hard question to answer and I'm not too sure about New Mexico. I know of one Indian Reservation in NM. Acoma Pueblo and it's a fascinating place. While far from wealthy, it seems like they have a wholesome life. The Casinos that some Indian tribes run have brought money to some of the people. Growing up in North Dakota. I witnesses the devastatingly poor life of the Indians on the reservation there.

They sure looked poor when I saw them. Heck with sending aid overseas, it needs sent to the american southwest!!
