Course of Nature is a good band that not many people know about. You should check them out. Also, based on the bands you said you liked, I would suggest Keane, Coldplay,Default, and if you like them you would probably like some Red Hot Chili Peppers too. You can go to pretty much any online music store, type in a band's name, and it will suggest artists that are similar to the artist you typed.

Sunday Morning is by No Doubt, not Gwen Stefani. If by "oldies" you mean classic rock, that just knocked a few songs off my list.

I'd suggest:

My Blue Heaven-Taking Back Sunday
Chasing Cars-Snow Patrol
Face Down-The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Camisado-Panic! At the Disco
Spiderwebs-No Doubt
Hey Baby-No Doubt
Famous Last Words-My Chemical Romance
To The End-My Chemical Romance
Roses-Meg&Dia
Indiana-Meg&Dia
Read My Mind-The Killers
Gone-Kelly Clarkson
Anna Molly-Incubus
Wine Red-The Hush Sound
Crawling Towards the Sun-The Hush Sound
Here (In Your Arms)-hellogoodbye
Waiting-Green Day
Redundant-Green Day
Time of Your Life-Green Day
The Latest Plague-From First To Last
Trust Me-The Fray
How To Save a Life-The Fray
The Music or the Misery-Fall Out Boy
Dead on Arrival-Fall Out Boy
Loser-Beck
The Adventure-Angels and Airwaves
Love Like Winter-AFI
When Your Heart Stops Beating-+44

...So there you've got some alt, modern rock, indie, emo, pop-punk, and pop. Hope I helped.

If you want an ipod mini intead of a nano, try CompUsa or Ebay because I think apple doesn't make them anymore (even though they're just as good as the nano)

If you like stuff like Maroon Five and All-American Rejects checj out:
-Snow Patrol
-Hawthorne Heights
-My Chemical Romance
-Sugarcult
- New Found Glory
