Have sex.
Your partner's semen has prostaglandin in it, when can stimulate the cervix to "ripen," or soften and thin out. And cause some contractions, too. Orgasm also is thought to help, too.
Physical activity can help. Lots of walking.
Castor oil, sometimes can help, but often it just makes people SICK.
Nipple stimulation probably won't cause labor, but can hurry it along once you start. Worth a try, though; it's free.
Raspberry leaf tea may have some effects, in cervical ripening; probably won't bring on labor.
An enema! If you're desperate, this really CAN help.
Evening Primrose Oil -- you get it from a health food store. This is also for cervical ripening. Put it in a diaphragm (like people use for birth control). Your midwife would have to agree to prescribing the diaphram for you.
Some practices will insert a urinary catheter into the cervix to manually stimulate ripening, if it's closed. You could ask about this. But they won't do it unless you are post-dates, and are planning to induce you.
Your midwife or doctor can strip your membranes, but only if your cervix is open enough to get at least one finger in.
Patience -- put your mind at ease and try to relax.
Good luck!

The baby is going to come when he/she is ready to make his/her appearance. Don't be in such a hurry. Sometimes, forcing something to happen, that isn't quite ready, can have a negative outcome. I was in labor with my son, but my water hadn't broken yet, and I was only 3 cm dilated. The doctor broke my water, and labor went even slower! Then, I had an epidural. Apparently not correctly because I couldn't feel anything from the waist up, but felt everything from the waist down! I wished that I had just let nature take it's course! The baby will come when it's time! The only time I would disagree with this is if your baby is in distress, or if there's something wrong with you. You didn't give those details, so I'm assuming that you're just tired of being pregnant, and want the big day to arrive. PATIENCE! It truly is a virtue.

Drink a half bottle of Castor oil mixed with some orange juice or grape juice and plug your nose. It worked both times I did it. My mom did it too and it always worked. We had the baby the same day. The only thing is it will give you diarrhea, but the contractions from that will trick your body into thinking it is in labor and will start the labor contractions. My doctor said women used to do it all the time and it doesn't have any negative effects on the baby (even if it doesn't work) but he also said they don't recommend it because it is not the Doctor thing to do. LOL. Even if it doesn't work for you, you will be cleaned out. LOL Have fun.

honestly the toddler will come whilst the toddler is waiting. no longer once you're arranged. Please do no longer attempt the 'caster oil' trick. It does not artwork and could reason the toddler to have a bowel flow and surely ingest its very own feces. Which of course isn't good. Ask any healthcare expert. they are going to inform you don't be concerned. It components cramps and the runs yet does not relatively speed up exertions. Oh and might you relatively wanna have the runs collectively as pushing out the toddler? no longer plenty exciting. As for what 'can' artwork. intercourse and strolling can the two keep you busy and entertained collectively as waiting. yet purely cling tight. you could no longer positioned the toddler returned as quickly because it is right here. So purely attempt to pamper your self and be chuffed which you're no longer weeks and weeks previous due. The healthcare expert will bring about while you're great previous due. purely attempt to enjoy your previous couple of days which you're pregnant with your priceless new child. Congrats!!!!

alot of low intensity exercise. i started moving and i went into labor. or get a pedicure, make sure they give a good massage, there is a pressure point on the bottom of your foot that is thought to start labor. f it doesn't work at least you got some last minutes of relaxation before the craziness of motherhood begins.

Walking is good, as is sex. There is a chemical in the sperm that softens the cervix. Other than that, you just have to wait until your little one wants to be born. I wouldn't advise castor oil, it will only make you throw up violently and give you the runs....not a fun way to go into labor!

IF you are full term, you can use a breast pump. It worked for me three times! Just make sure you are far enought along and stop if you produce first milk (colustrum) b/c the baby needs that to eat!

Sex... Rasberry leaf tea helps your mussles relax. So you will streach easier. Having sex helps you to contract and start labor. Other than that Gods timing!!!
