Disease prevention related to 2nd law of thermodynamics...?

Question

I am writing a paper about how to prevent epidemic disease from spreading globally. I want to apply the 2nd law of thermodynamics to this but don't understand it well enough to apply it (yet!).Where can I find information about this?
Am I on the right track or way off base?
Websites, books, textbooks...any info will help.
