You need to fix the faucet.

The fix will either be a rubber gasket, an O ring, or a cartridge - depending on your faucet.

Keeping it leaking offers a rich source of food for bacteria, and leaves pesky hard water deposits on sink.

These are rather easily done on a DIY basis. If you need additional help, return to Y!Answers, or go to your local library -- they have excellent DIY manuals available -- great graphics.

Good luck

Where is the leak? The drain pipes, or the faucet, the seal on the edge of the sink?

Post and edit and I'll try to help

If it a faucet with two handles that you turn then replace the washer, if it's the one handle type you can get a kit to replace the O-rings and seals. MAKE SURE YOU SHUT THE WATER OFF, trust me, it'll make a mess, and yes I did it once.

It you can't get a kit it's not that hard to replace the whole thing. We had an off brand faucet and that's what I ended up doing.

Good luck

If it is leaking around the drain, a simple sealant should do unless it is cracked. Worst case is replacing the basin (sink). It just depends on where the leak is originating from.
