While it is true that most players either wear contacts or have lazik surgery a couple of examples of players that wear them on the field are Nate Robertson (Tiger pitcher) and in the 90's Chris sabo (3rd base) wore them as well. I am sure I am forgetting others but back in the earlier years of baseball they didnt wear glasses as it wasnt considered "manly". Kinda like the old goaltenders in hockey that played without masks. It was not something you could do and be accepted then so although I am sure a few of them could have used a pair they simply couldnt. Plus because of the bulk of the glasses one has to believe that it would have been nearly impossible to keep them on in the first place.

Would you want to take a line drive off your face while wearing glasses?
Would you want to worry about your glasses while sliding into home?
I know Greg Maddux has gotten the Lasik surgery, as has Troy Glaus. Also, some players wear special contact lenses that are specifically designed for baseball. The contact lenses give them an enhanced perception of the ball and its movements. Brian Roberts of the Orioles started using these contact lenses before his breakout season 2 years ago. Ken Griffey, Jr. was considering wearing these contact lenses even though he has good vision.

There are still some players who wear glasses today even though a lot of them have gotten the Lasik surgery or wear contacts. Some players who still wear glasses today are Duaner Sanchez, Nate Robertson, Eric Gagne, etc.

There have been plenty of baseball players that have worn glasses. While most wear contacts today, some still wear glasses.

Eric Gagne wears glasses. Tom Henke wore glasses. Reggie Jackson wore glasses. Gustavo Chacin wears glasses (although he wears them for effect, they are plain glass). Chris Sabo wore glasses.
In the earlier days of baseball, players wore glasses as well. Check your baseball history.

Most players who wear glasses use contact lenses when they are playing. A lot have opted to get laser surgery on their eyes to make then not need corrective lenses.

Greg Maddux wears glasses. I am sure a few others do as well. Most wear contacts when they are playing for comfort and safety reasons as well.

Chris Sabo played for the Cincinnati Reds. He wore glasses. This helped my sister tremendously when she wanted her son to wear glasses. Since Chris Sabo wore them, so could he!
