I figured it was true since while she has been on it she has not had a period, so this should make pregnancy impossible right.

That's not true at all! She can get pregnant!She still ovulates reguardless of a period or not! Just because she is on methadone doesn't mean she can't get pregnant! Consult a doctor about it they'll tell you she can! Hope this helps!

Get her to take a pregnancy test NOW!!! She is probably already pregnant, that's why she's not getting her period. My friend is on methadone and she became pregnant, Anna Nicole Smith just had a baby while on methadone. And like many other people have said... why are you with this girl?

Methadone changes the part of the brain that causes the urge that opiates have on it. Rather than cause a series of highs and lows, it causes a relative feeling of withdrawl, without all the symptoms. Consider it the Nicorette of needle pushers.
That being said, it is possible that it will be harder for her to get pregnant, due to the imbalance that she is most likely having with her periods. That does not mean she can not get pregnant.
I'd be more worried about why she is on Methodone. Most likely she was a needle user, so I'd wear a condom regardless.
Don't fall for this trick, or you might have a crack baby ahead for you.

Methadone is NOT, repeat NOT, a birth control medication. Ask yourself if women on heroin can get pregnant and of course the answer is yes. There's only a few things that can prevent pregnancy: condoms, birth control meds, spermicidal foams or jellies and IUDs. You say she hasn't had a period since she was on it, but some women have problem periods for a number of reasons.

NO NO NO NO!!! WRONG WRONG!!! Are you sure she isnt having a period b/c she is already pregnant???? Methadone is a narcotic, not a birth controll pill!! It is a synthetic pain killer! If she is pregnant & on methadone, she needs to see a doctor ASAP!! And why is she on methadone?? Was she a drug addict? Have you had unprotected sex?? Get tested right away, and for gods sake man, if you are having sex, PROTECT & EDUCATE yourself. Anyone who thinks methadone is a form of birth controll SHOULD NOT be having babies!!!

WRONG....I can' imagine why she is telling you that but being on Methadone has nothing to do with getting pregnant. Methadone is just like any other drug, just legal. It is not a birth control.
You take care of the situation and do not depend on her. You know what you can do to prevent her getting pregnant so just do it.
She isn't being straight with you.

No! Look, don't take a girls word on it. If you don't want to get anyone pregnant, use condoms. Even girls on birth control might not be taking them properly, as in everyday or at the same time.. so the best protection for you is use condoms no matter WHAT the girl says she's on!

Seems to be true, since you can't get pregnant if your not ovulating, and you if you don't ovulate you don't get a period. But, you shouldn't take any chances. Keep on using condoms. They don't just protect against pregnancy.

No,that is not true. However it may make it more difficult.Just because she is not having any periods does not mean she cannot get pregnant.
