EAch woman is different, so your optimal cervical fluid might be very different than another persons.

The book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" has a color photo section in the middle of the book with example photographs that show the different types of cervial discharge. It's very helpful to be able to actually see what things look like. There is also a chapter in the book which specifically deals with this very subject.

When you are ovulating you want the fluid (or mucous) to be stretchy and very liquid like. Crack open an egg and separate the yolk from the white. Run the white thru your hands to get a better idea of what you should be looking for.

Personally, I've had "ovulation" muscous that has been watery, and then more stretchy like an egg white, to thick and sticky like rubber cement. it just depends on the old body, what will come out.

But seriously, get the book and read it! Good luck

The egg white and stretchy is the ideal one. Watery kind is also fertile. Some women have just the watery and they still get pregnant. If it is stretchy no matter if it has milk white it is considered fertile.
