No, most caucasian babies are born w/ blue eyes, but african or hispanic children are born w/ brown because they have more pigment already. A caucasian babies eyes will change color maybe even a few times but will be the final color generally by the time the child is a year old.

Nope, babies can be born with brown eyes right away. My son's eyes were blue though, and now he's a year and a half and they still are not brown. They are like a green colour. And everyone in our family has brown eyes!

My son was born at 31 weeks, and I guess at that time, their eyes don't have pigment yet because when he was born, they were almost black. After a few weeks, they turned light blue but now their color is a hazel green like his father's. I think it's very common for babies to be born with blue eyes, but less common for them to stay that way.

Most caucasian babies are, but not all. My son, who is quite pale, was born with very dark eyes...kind of a grayish brown. His dad has brown eyes and mine are green, and I knew from the minute he opened his eyes they'd never be green. They are now very dark brown.

Most Caucasian baby's are. Newborns don't have pigment in their eyes. That's why baby's eye color can change up to a year after birth.
