Reb yoshi says: In Europe you can't leave the house without ID or you'll be arrested: Where did you hear that, mate? It's bollocks.

He says: You can't wear certain religious clothing: one country, France has this law. There are around 47 countries in Europe, so again, bollocks.

He says: You can't own a firearm. Why the hell would we want to? When you own a firearm, you are statistically more likely to shoot your own face off than an intruder's.

He says: You can't voice certain political opinions without being arrested. Like what?? Unless you are inciting racial hatred, you can voice any opinion you wish.

He says: You're not allowed to be an open racist or you risk arrest. Erm...yeah, very true. Why, oh why would anyone want to openly racist?

He says: Your taxes are higher (which means you are not free to spend your money as you chose, to a greater extent). True, I'll give you that one. Our taxes are high.

He says: You are not free to chose whether you want to have health care or spend that money on something else. True. We have the NHS and pay for it so as everyone has access to medical care. We prefer not to leave the poorest in our society to die.

He doesn't mention: George Bush stealing the election. Democratic, my ****.

Neither the US nor the UK are free. It's an illusion.

More free than other places I've lived.

In Europe you can't leave the house without ID or you'll be arrested, you can't wear certain religious clothing, you can't own a firearm, you can't voice certain political opinions without being arrested, you're not allowed to be an open racist or you risk arrest, and your taxes are higher (which means you are not free to spend your money as you chose, to a greater extent), you are not free to chose whether you want to have health care or spend that money on something else. (Lived in Belgium)

In the Middle East, there's no comparison. (lived in Israel)
