Personally, yes.
The counter to that is blind acceptance based on ignorance.
Even faith must be based on a basic understanding of a concept.

I guess that depends on what you mean by "accept."
If you mean "accept as truth or fact," I would have to say "no."
I do not really understand electricity or gravity or fax machines or the internet, but I believe in electricity and gravity and fax machines. The internet I'm still not sure about...I think it might be an elaborate illusion! :-)

I would think a little amount of understand would have to be involved in order to accept anything....you may not agree with it though.

preferably i strive not to accept a concept before i understand and commend it, but realistically a lot of us believe explicitly in things we don't fully understand
