Rule #1: When naming a baby, think of all the ways his future friends can make fun of his name. The name may be different, but will it humiliate him someday? If you can HONESTLY say no, then go ahead, name him whatever you want, but I can count on one hand how many women would want to be Mrs. Linen.

I like different names (my son's name is Kai) but naming your son Linen sounds like a good plan to get kids in school to make fun of him.
When choosing our son's name, my husband and I decided to find that would be special and different, but not too different or weird, something that would still have a familiar sound/feel to it, so that our kid would'nt get made fun of by other kids. Kai sounds a little like Kyle (common american name) without the commonness.
Hope that helps.

No.
Play the rock star/dr game. My husband and I would take each name we liked and played like it was a name for a rock star or as a Dr. You never know what your little one will be.
Paging Dr. Linen Yourlastname. Nah!

I think that would wrap things up well. On the plus side, you could be comfortable in the knowledge that you are weaving new life into the tapestry of your family's names. I think it's also vital to ensure a name holds true to the fabric of society.
I dare say it's a name unlikely to lose it's luster. It's quite crisp.
But to be honest I think you're spinning a yarn.

If you used it for a middle name you could have Clean or Dirty as his first name. Sorry but have to be honest I don't really think much of this as a name. Remember that whatever you call him at birth he will be stuck with for the rest of his life. If he were to become a professional or something later on in life this name may cause some embarrassment. Also when in school it may cause a lot of unwarranted teasing. Sorry to sound so negative about your choice of names but have to give my honest opinion.

No, sorry. It just doesn't sound like a name at all really. Though I have to say when I first read it I immediately thought if it was used for a name it sounded feminine.

It is different alright. But that does not mean it is good.
How about Linden, as in the President Linden Baines Johnson.
He will thank-you for it. No one wants to be named after a bed sheet.
