sounds to me like you need to have your transmission rebuilt. It's not normal for a transmission to do worse after it warms up.

the 1991 ford taurus I have been driving did the SAME thing.
it has now gone to the farm for dismantling.
my guess is the bands have abraided or
clutch disc are Smoked.
It would go in reverse, no problem.
Maybe FORD should have installed a trans-cooler.

If it was the anti lock seloind it would shut down check the dipstick and see if the fluid is burnt if it is do a tranny service to it your filter and screen maybe dirty and the fluid is bad

it has noting to do with the sensor. the mechanical parts inside the transmission are worn out. it need to be replace.

Probably time to trade this car or at very least have another transmission installed. You need to compare costs of different options.

Have your transmission scanned and see if there are any codes, could be electrical,ie sensors, modules, solenoid, or could be hardware, such as internal clutch seals.
