((if your are going to be mean and stuff then id prefer you not to answer this)) im so sick of reading like a poem online or a story and the people who leave the comments are so mean...EMO is just a label, there atill humans like the rest of you people insulting them. they already have like bad so why do you need to make things worst for them?! anyways...i get so mad when i see stupid stuff like "emo's are fags!" and stuff...why are people so mean to them?!

It just grows tiresome listening and we would prefer to see them take some action to relieve their difficulties rather than drone on endlessly day after day as if they are the only ones with a problem .

Because they forget that it is ultimately all about the (good) music. Sure it has emotional themes and so on but its just like everything other sub-culture like punk and goth. It's a fashion choice but some hate for the fact that its commecialised alot. Emo is sold to kids who want to fit in - you see it everywhere, some bands even adopt the style so they can gain some degree of success in the market. Emos who cultivate the 'depressed' attitude make a mockery of those who actually go through real issues which is why they are also not liked. Not all emos are like this though. Most important thing of all is one must stay true to themselves and if they're comfortable with who they are they don't have to be afraid of being labelled. But once again, emo started out as music not cutting.

Firstly, emos aren't fags! There's nothing wrong with being homosexual, but there's plenty wrong with being emo. Firstly, their music is terrible. Secondly, they're all very ugly. I'm not exaggerating here; Emo women are ugly. I can't speak about emo boys, but I do know that their super-long straight black hair would make even the youngest child want to punch them in the nads. Thirdly, all they seem to do is whine and complain about situations that really aren't that bad. Your boyfriend dumped you? Get the H*ll over it!
There is a variety of other reasons why emos are vastly hated.

Well, because nobody trusts them. Ever since Coulumbine, people have been insecure around them. Two kids, who were picked on because they were emo, killed 12 people in a highschool, and killed many normal kids. Parents tell their kids not to hang around with kids like emos, because a lot of them drink, are violent, smoke, etc. That is why a lot of them have no friends. Most kids hang around with athletes and preppier kids, because they don't look violent or scary. Emos to be honest look scary. Most school shootings are related to an emo. Plus the fact that they are so depressed, and not that fun to be around.

The term "EMO" is stereotyped. Some think emotional and alot of highly opinionated or creative to, people run with this label. But they are everywhere, and it is a unique crowd not of the "majority" so if you are truly happy with who you are and what you like I would be happy with that and not care what others think!!! As long as there is more than one "flavor" out there then there will always be a stereotype, it's really okay if you are who you are and that is where you really want to be!

Usually people hate emos because they have emotional issues themselves. You will find that these "haters" that call emos f*gs are bullies, and almost always male.
On some level, the hatred is bred out of homophobia, and our society's uncomfortableness with males showing emotion. There is a perception that men showing emo-type emotions makes them weak, hence these bullies call them names and such.
At the end of the day, it is a sign of immaturity and homophobia, and all we can do is feel sorry for them for being closeminded.

I'm not really sure what an Emo is but I do know that people don't really need a reason to dislike others. It's usually just an emotional response to something or somebody they don't like or understand.

Hmm. People just like to jump onto the bandwagon and go along with the flow with no substanial reasons.
Like,they could also call Depeche Mode emo when they're obviously not? LOL. And My Chemical Romance is obviously emo when people call them "pop-punk?" Lmao.
People make mistakes at times,just try to understand that. Emos are annoying though.

I know what you mean there are alot and I mean ALOT of Emos at my school and most people make fun of them (I don't judge people on there lifestyle choice so I don't make fun of them). I believe that its because most people confuse which are Emos and which are Goths. Goths are the ones who hate the world and want everyone in it to die. Emos are the ones who hate themselves and take out their aggresion on themselves.

They are Fags, just looking like stupid ***** to be the center of attention. They like to be picked on because they don't care what kind of attention they get as long as they get it. Look at the fags from the 80's that dressed up like Boy George, same **** different year.
