Do you take off your shoes automatically or have to be told?

When you visit someones house do you automattically take off your shoes or does someone have to tell you to. Do you like taking off your shoes at other peoples houses. Do you let people wear shoes in your house.

I usually look at the feet of the person answering the door, and if they have their shoes off, I take mine off. Given the choice, I will always go in stocking feet. I hate shoes and never wear them in my house. So, yes, I like taking my shoes off at other people's houses.

I take my shoes off automatically. But if I'm at someone's house that I'm not too comfortable walking around without shoes, I keep them on.

I automatically take my shoes off when I come into my house.
I prefer for people to do the same, but won't ask.
When I go to other people houses I do take off my shoes if they do. At my best friends house I do as soon as I walk in because I feel comfortable there. I also do it at my mom's house.

Automatic- I'm a very good guest! I don't mind if people wear their shoes in my house, I admire their manners if they do- unless they have smelly feet!

always remove my shoes, have a rug next to my front, friends and family remove there shoes here, but the "MAYTAG" repair man didn't
