Yes. I dropped out of college thinking I didn't need school to make a living. I thought the 26K a year I was making was big money. A few years of living paycheck to paycheck, driving an old car, living on ramen noodles gave me the motivation to put myself back in school to finish my degree. Now, I have a good paying job and am quickly being promoted into management over all of the other workers who didn't go to college.
It is much easier to stay in school than to go back to it later. It's worth it to stay. A high school education doesn't go very far anymore. A high school dropout is pretty much doomed to low paying jobs. It may be a sacrifice financially and socially on the front end to get your education but it will pay off over your entire lifetime in higher earning potential.

No.
You can flip greasy burgers while people yell at you to hurry up.
You can scrub nasty toilets in sleezy motels after people check out.
You can clean off dirty tables in a restaurant .
You can scrape paint until your arm feels like it's going to fall off.
See? There's lots of wonderful things you can do without ever going to school. You don't need a home or good food to eat. You can just live on the streets and keep all your clothes in an old grocery cart. If you make enough money scrubbing those toilets, you could even buy yourself a hamburger for dinner.
