It's faster than 2.5, but a tad slower than 3.0.

it is fast but there r faster like 3GHz.
so depending on how u will use it(games,movies,office programs) u can choose what will be enough for u.
for me i have 2.66GHz and it crashes sometimes as i use it badly.
