I would love to know since I'm writing a novel that includes the Phantom, Romeo, Dracula, and Puck (Midsummer Night's Dream).

The book by Leroux is not copyrighted in the United States. Good luck on your novel, it sounds really interesting!

I would think that this would be copyrighted by Leroux, not Weber because he just made the movie/music, not the story behind it or the characters.
