As long as the current demands of the pump do not exceed the capacity of the charger, this would allow you to run indefinitely. I recently had a battery that wouldn't hold a charge, however by using my charger running off of the generator, I could keep things that were connected to the battery running, as long as the charger was on.

Yes as long as the battery does not overheat, which is not likely this time of year. As continuous charge can cause you to loose battery water, short the plates and cause damage or even an exploding battery.

use 12 volt power source like a old phone charger 12 volt .
as for the charge as you go , not recomended . its your charger .
