what changes happened to carmen after her dad told her that he was about to get married?

Carmen got really angry that her dad was practically married by the time he even told her. I think she just didn't want to share her dad with her soon to be step-siblings and maybe tried to figure out why her dad and mom didn't stay together. She resents him for not mentioning the other family at all and then she gets thrown into a whole summer with them. I would've thrown that rock thru the window too.
