I have a 360 with Xbox Live, but when I try to play an Xbox game online, it won't let me. Why is that?

Also, My xbox live works with all my other games, just not the xbox game. It's "Mortal Kombat: Armegaddon" if that helps at all.

When I try to sign in xbox live, it says "You have an important message from xbox live. press "A" to read" I press "A" and it just takes me to my account settings.

Does it say XBOX LIVE ENABLED? If not, then you can't play it online, EVER. It might not be backward compatible. If you think it is but are unsure, leave the game title and I'll let you know for sure.

edit: It should work but make sure you have the correct update for backwards compatibilty games and try running the troubleshooter. It could be that you have a bad internet connection or that nobody plays that game online anymore....I only play Halo 2 online and it always works perfect...

edit (again): tough guy is a noob.

there can be a number of explanations for the reason why you can play online you would have to be more specific to get any real help, but i would first start by running the troubleshoot

i have had many problems with this and i think the main one that i had was that my windows firewall was enabled and was preventing me from playing live, although don't leave it off permanently as it can be a security risk.. hope this helped!
