I live in a lily white area with few black. I really enjoy talking with most of the blacks I know but I wouldn't necessarily say they're friends because we don't socialize. But then again, the neighbor kids are black and they're over all the time . . . who knows.
Not long ago I had a very snide comment made about me being "white." I pointed out to that ultimately, we are all African. Very little has changed, hair, skin pigment and that was simply adapting to the changed environment. The whole DNA thing.
As a 'white" guy I can tell you racisim sucks. I've been kicked out of a couple of places in other countries for being "white." Also, when in the military it really hurt when a black and I were waking & talking & really enjoying the talk, as soon as he saw blacks he knew, I suddenly became a pariah. He joined up with them & walked off.
How many "blacks" have "white" friends? It's sad we catagorize this way. MLK was so dead on when he said he'd rather have his children judged not on on the color of their skin but on the content of their character.

I don't have any really good friends, only a couple of fellow moms that I chat with while we wait to pick our kids up from school. Not friends in the sense that we talk on the phone or hang out frequently, but then we are moms, so we don't do much of that anyway. If I called them asking for a favor I am sure that they would be happy to oblige as I would for them.

What's so racist about the question? Oh i'm sorry, is it wrong to refer to "black people" in conversation?
You know, from when I was born until I was 14, I had nothing BUT black friends (okay, and 2 jewish kids that went to my school). I was the ONLY asian kid for miles. Wonder what THAT does to a kid's sense of "fitting in"?

Everyone should have black friends why do u ask are u racist or sumthin cause im white and i had a black uncel and we were tight ya know

I've had a few my life. We shared common interests though. When younger, we both skateboarded together. And now I have a few, but we only watch football, and play sports together(acquintances).
