You could try a few sessions of reflexology. It is very effective, not only at giving immediate relief on occasions but at clearing up whatever it is that is causing the cramps.
So instead of finding something to ease the pain every month, you may find that the cramps disappear altogether.
It is a wonderfully soothing therapy and is certainly worth trying.
Hope this helped.

The new heat pads that are out for back pain and aches are brilliant, they have an adhesive backing and last for up tp 8 hours. Its like walking around with a hot water bottle round your tummy.
You can get them in Boots
Hard physical exercise is also good for cramps ,,honest

Tell your gynecologist. It may be a symptom of endometriosis which is a progressive disease. Birth control pills are usually prescribed. If you don't like pills, they now have a patch. The birth control pills will get rid of the cramps and if you have endometriosis it will halt the progression. Always tell your doctor that you have painful periods. We are taught as women that cramps are normal and that we just have to tolerate them. Actually, they may be a symptom of something that is wrong.

The old hot water bottle trick is always good, and I noticed in Tesco and other places they have really discreet self-heating pads that stick to your tummy. They are totally flat so they hide under your clothes, meaning you can wear them in work etc when a hot water bottle isn't practical. Baths are good too.
But my latest favourite 'treatment' is one I read about in a magazine recently. It said that eating hot custard was good because it not only warms your tummy from the inside, but is also great for those sweet-food cravings too!

Here's a few things to try..
Try taking a hot bath
Use a heating pad
Look online or find a book with special stretches that help stretch the abdominal muscles..doing the stretches really stinks when you're feeling so cruddy, but they do help some

Put a hot water bottle on your tummy hun, lie down in the foetal position quietly. Take plenty of warm drinks tea especially & massage your tummy slowly, but often. Try to rest at every opportunity & try not to stress too much. Just hold yourself & try to get some sleep. Put a little lavender oil on your pillow. xxx

well if you dont want to take birth control to help it you can always take advil, tylenol, or midol. but those are all pill an i asuume you mean besides that. heating pads work wonders sometimes. if you dont want to buy one run a washloth or towel under warm water and ring it out and put it on you. also oding somethign else to get your mind off of it. also laying down helps a little to.

Softly massaging your tummy with warm lavender massage oil usually helps. Then as you go to sleep, try to put a heated wheat pack or hot water bottle on it, it will ease the pain. xxx
