Bush did an unforgiveably bad thing when he lied to convince the legislators to ok his military intervention in Iraq. We have paid the price in lost lives, injured bodies (Iraquis and ours) and wasted money.
The truth is that the 3 groups in Iraq have hated each other for hundreds if not thousands of years. The USA will not change this.
Now that we have hanged the only stabilizing force, Sadam Hussein, who kept things suppressed, these hatreds are surfacing.
We should apologize to the world for believing Bush's lies and withdraw. If "the world" does not like the result, they can, through the UN, send in a huge stabilizing force of UN troops.
If not, all civil wars end someday.(look at the USA). How would we have responded if the English came then with troops and tried to suppress our civil war? Right. Lots of dead English, killed by both the North and the South.
There is no "good" answer. The genie is out of the bottle. There is no reason for the USA to stay there as targets and also to be the object of derision throughout the world.
Withdraw the troops now.

Protect the oil fields, pipelines, and ports so the country has a chance to recover its economic base. We owe them at least that much. Protect Bagdad airport so our people can get in and out. Patrol the borders (like we should be doing in the U.S.) to keep the bad guys from getting in our out. Let the Iraqi's deal with the rest. It's sink or swim time.
They'll be so busy killing each other, the "terrorist training ground" we keep hearing about won't be a problem.
If they want 3 separate countries, let them handle it. If the Turks don't like a free Kurdish nation, tell them "That's tough. Deal with it."

Bring our men and women home!!! They have all been there way too long and I don't know that we are still looking for the people who are responsible for 9/11....like we are supposed to be.
We have many problems here on American soil that need to be fixed before we go there and "rebuild" Iraq. The poor people who were affected by Katrina are still not in their homes and able to rebuild....also, we have not finished rebuilding Ground Zero for the World Trade Center (though it is being worked on)...
Rebuilding isn't our only problem...we have abuse and disease and children growing up without parents, a good education, money for college....etc.
I have heard estimates that it costs around 5 billion dollars a day for us to be over in Iraq (and I wish I could remember the places I heard that...but off the top of my head I don't have a source to quote..) I can think of a million ways to use that money here in America to better our own country. I think we need to put as much effort in our own country as we do everyone elses....We seem to worry about everyone except the people on the street with no money or jobs, the single mother trying to finish high school or college, the guy down the street who is talented and wishes he could afford college...but can't and so he's working at minimum wage job just trying to get by....
All of these problems are just some of the things we need to fix here....this isnt including curing cancer and A.I.D.S./H.I.V., liver disease, heart disease, etc. etc.
It breaks my heart that we are sending our men and women into a battle zone...and if they are lucky enough to return, they will never be the same.
We all have heard of the men and women who served in wars like WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea, etc etc....and now the desert storm war, and they have nightmares, and psychological issues, and their families suffer because they are not the same. The divorce rate goes up, people can't deal with what they saw or had to do, they are hurting inside and the families can't understand what is going on...the doctors don't even understand...and so they continue to suffer until they pass on....
Many of them come home and can't work or find their old job, or they have an injury and can't get benefits, etc. etc. and all for what? What is it that we are benefiting by being over there and sending more soldiers? We haven't caught Osama....I'm sure terroist cells will start to rebuild....and American's will be hated even more because we don't mind our own business...
I just feel (and this is my own opinion here) that we should focus on our own country right now because we need help here!!! It also breaks my heart every time they announce one of our men or women in Iraq (or anywhere in the Middle East) lost their lives or were wounded because of this "war."
Again this is my own opinion and I don't want anyone to be offended...I just feel very strongly about this...and the President's announcement to send more troops over there by Monday just makes me sick to my stomach....these men and women need to be home, here in America...with their friends and family....where they are wanted, needed, and deserve to be...this war is not serving our own benefit...it is ruining this country and the families who live here....I hope no one is offended or upset by anything I said here...I just get very upset at the situation.....Thanks :)

pray that god grants this imbec#*le a brain and a conscience to pack it in before he starts a global war with the other countries around the region(ira,syria,lebanon...)if that happens we will surely be in big trouble because it will go nuclear ..you can bet on that .so best scenario is to accept that this isnt an american problem its for the iraqis wheter sunni, shia, kurds to deal with their own country .get out now ,the cost is 3000 deaths and counting and a billion dollars a week in spending to fund this war all this for what?
please mr bush get out now,you made a mistake going in,you deceived everyone with your intentions, now its time to stop,

It may be too late to prevent a global war. In the meantime, we should pull our kids out of these countries, and let them deal with their own crap. lets concentrate on protecting our borders from terrorists, and pray that this will not end in nuclear war!

Accept the fact tha our leader is as maniacal in many ways as theirs was, and try to figure out a way to replace him, befor eour whole military is either dead or in wheelchairs, the rest of their lives.
