This band is just as worthy as lesser bands that have made it into rock's hallowed hall.

I do not understand why this band isn't recognized into rock's hallowed hall. Van Halen I can definitely understand their recent induction. But R.E.M.? The Clash a number of years before? The Sex Pistols? What the hell?

On top of that, KISS has been left out, as has Three Dog Night. It's crazy to see some of the lesser bands in there, and even crazier to see guys like Eric Clapton inducted THREE different times (Yardbirds, Cream, and solo)!!!

For that matter why aren't the Moody Blues in there? A case could also be made for the Hollies. Both bands have been going strong for over 40 years. I think its all politics and who pays who the most money. And let's not forget the Guess Who - greatest rock band to ever come out of Canada. Chicago isn't in there for the same reason these guys - and Three Dog Night whom you mentioned - aren't in there.

The RRHoF is kind of a weird situation anyway. I mean think about it. How do you qualify. It is obviously all about the taste of the people who are voting. Also I don't think rock stars look at it like an athlete looks at the HoF in their sport. The only way it really could be relevant would be if the surviving members were able to vote on it. But even with that it's still just a matter of taste.

"...the induction process is controlled by a few individuals, such as founder Jann Wenner, former foundation director Suzan Evans, and writer Dave Marsh, reflecting their tastes rather than the views of the rock world as a whole."

Apparently those few individuals aren't Chicago fans.
