Yes, you can shave above your knee. Hair will not grow in thicker or darker, that is an old wives's tale and is not true.

The hair above my knee doesn't grow as fast or thick as below the knee so I only shave it once every two weeks or so. My husband can't even tell when I need to shave.

I do above the knee. After shaving for a while the hair comes less thick and it is easier.

I'm a lucky one. I barely ever shave my legs. The hair on them is so blonde & fine you can't even see it, but it does get pretty long after a long while. So when I do do it, I shave them to the top of my knee cap. After that there isn't really any hair there.

I rarely shave above the knee in the winter time. Its not really necessary, and as the hair gets past the stubble stage, its pretty soft (and mine is so blond, you can't even see it). In the summer though, I go all the way up to the bikini line.

Only some girls have hair above their knees. It's a question of how much testosterone (male hormones) you have in your bloodstream. If you've very little you won't have any significant amount of hair even below your knees.
If you've got hair above the knee it's a sign you've got a lot of testosterone and you're into the sort of hair growth pattern that's more common in males.

i understand the place you're coming from , yet I ought to disagree with you . i've got faith that the term long legs is relative to a woman's top , to that end a woman 6' ft could have a protracted waist line and have fairly short legs for her length and vice versa a woman of 5'a million and have a quick waist line and have those attractive long legs . So all i'm attempting to assert is that tall or short , yu could properly be considered to have long legs .

The more you do it the less it will grow reason being it gets pulled from the root where shaving just cuts..... Different skin types can have some adverse affects so be safe!
